This is where I am with a block exchange with my Quilt Guild. I am in the process of making 22 blocks. There are 22 people doing the exchange so the idea is to get 21 different blocks to have a quilt top and you had to only make one pattern. What was I thinking? Anyway it will be a good exchange as everybody was given a differnet pattern and the yellowish marble fabric. We had to chose the coordinate fabrics. My block is called Sarah's Choice. Certainally not my choice!!! Too many points to match up. I have until April 12th to get them completed. My goal is to be done before the night before! It will be fun to see what everybody else has done.

Carely and Sophie Carley Archer
Here is Carley Ellen in her Birthday/Easter dress. She was so pretty in it and didn't know that she was about to get her look alike doll even though she was guessing what may be in the box and that was one thing she said.
Carley was so excited when she finally got the present open. She was so sweet and just hugged her new doll and looked at her.
I was rocking Carley and had to rock Sophie to sleep too!

Carley
This is a dress I smocked for Lori around 1989 and she wore it for Easter. I love to see heirloom dresses passed down to the next generation. Carley looks alot like her Mama in this. We are on our way to see this sweet girl for her big reveal birthday present along with her
little brother Drake and
big sister Liz whom also had a birthday in February.

Jannah Grace
Here is the beginning of Jannah Grace's Easter dress for this year. She is getting so big I am not sure how many more I will get to make for her in this particular style. I will smock it in the light blue color that is in the roses and the background is what I would call Kiwi green.
I have started smocking and it will be pretty. I am thinking blue may be the color used the most and work in white and green. Maybe a doll dress to match later? Could be ties for the boys too.

From My Kithchen
I baked some Chocolate Cranberry Macadamia Nut Biscotti for Jimmy as well as some other special people to me for Valentine's Day! It sure was delicious with some coffee and looks pretty too. I will have some for my Southern Living Party I am hosting Thrusday night for my guests to enjoy.

Sewing Room
Here is an antique sign that Jimmy got for me to hang in my sewing room. My favorite part is Dressmaking because I sure don't like to do alterations at all. I would rather start from scratch than try to alter something.
And I am not sure about Coats Remodeled. Must be something they used to do back then!

Scarves
Here are some of the new scarves I have knitted and on the right is one that I am making for my friend Marcia Dixon. She saw one of my scarves at church and said she would like to have one so I am glad to make her one after all her help when our home flooded last year.
Max
Max is my helper when I am knitting. He likes to help me with my yarn in ways that is not always good. I looked yesterday and he had several remant skeins all pulled out playing with them. I don't really need that kind of help! He is also good for dragging rattle snakes to the back door. We thought the snake was dead so Jimmy put IT in a bag and took it to the shop. When he was showing it to someone IT had come back to life. IT was just too cold and not real lively when we thought it was dead. Jimmy said it was trying to strike so they killed it. That makes about 5 we have killed in the past year.

Almost Complete
Almost done with the birthday girl and the doll dress. Have to have a matching bow per Carley so she and the doll will have one. I will be waiting for the look on her face when she opens this. Will happen on 2/21/10 in St Augustine.

Carley Ellen's Birthday/Easter Dress
This is the beginning of a very special dress for a sweet little girl.
This is a big year for Carley Ellen as she gets a doll that looks like her for her 5th birthday as well as an Easter/Birthday dress that I smocked for her as well as the doll. Carley has spent a lot of time looking at My Twin magazines wishing for the doll that looks like her. I am so excited about the year finally getting here that her dream will come true! The dress is what I call Robin Egg Blue and will be so pretty on her. I remember when she was younger all she wanted to wear was the dresses that I had smocked for her. I love to see my granddaughters in beautiful handmade dresses and barefoot. I thank God for the gift of sewing and loving every minute of it.
I will be anxious to get both of them done before her birthday in a few days.
